Brooks – The Brooks Welcoming and Inclusive Communities program is hosting a fun event for the entire family.  Cricket, a sport enjoyed by a number of countries throughout the world, will be introduced in Brooks.  People of all skill sets are invited to come out to learn the sport and participate in a mini tournament on Sunday, June 22nd from 12:00pm-6:00pm at Eastbrook School. Teaching will take place from 12:00pm-2:00pm and the tournament will run from 2:00pm-6:00pm.

Instructors will be on site to help teach and develop skills and all the equipment will be provided. No experience is necessary, but those who have played before are also welcome to come.

This event was made possible through a grant from Alberta Sport Connection which aims to bring new and exciting sports to residents of Alberta.  Cricket is most popular in Australasia, England, the Indian subcontinent, the West Indies and Southern Africa.

There is no cost to attend this event and people of all ages are welcome.  To sign up, either as an individual or with a group, visit the Lakeside Leisure Centre or contact them at 403-362-3622.
