About Brooks Community Adult Learning Council

Brooks Community Adult Learning Council (BCALC) is a non-profit organization, which provides ESL instructions to immigrants, refugees and Temporary Foreign Workers as well Employability Enhancement Skills and General interest courses to the wider community. We are also a partner in the delivery of Alberta Advanced Education Community Adult Learning program.

We are a community leader with over 20 years of experience in delivering a high-quality English as Second Language (ESL) program. We pride ourselves in delivering these services in a warm, caring, and professional environment to a multicultural and multilingual clientele.

Other programming includes numeracy, computer, reading and writing training for adults of all ages.  

BCALC holds classes mornings, afternoons and evenings at 303 8th Street East.

Our student population number approximately 500. Students originate from countries around the world, including China, Columbia, Congo, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Mexico, Somalia, Sudan, Ukraine etc. We offer 24 classes of Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) and 13 other ESL classes daily funded provincially through Advanced Education and privately and which are taught by very capable and experienced instructors.
